PGE Baltica signed a contract with Geophysics Toruń

PGE Baltica has signed a contract with Geophysics Toruń SA for the performance of geophysical tests for the Baltica 9 wind farm project, including high resolution reflective seismic and bathymetric measurements. Research in the northern part of Ławica Słupska will start in May and will last until June 2025, and their results will be delivered in November. The method used will enable detailed recognition of the geological structure of the sea DNA up to 100 meters deep and identify potential threats. The Baltica 9 project is one of the eight Offshore PGE investments with a planned power of 975 MW.

Projmors will design the way to the terminal in Świnoujście

On April 25, the Board of Sea Ports of Szczecin and Świnoujście signed a contract with the Projmors Marine Project Office for the development of project and science documentation of the technical road for the deep-water container terminal in Świnoujście. This road will be crucial for the start of construction works at the terminal, which will ultimately be operated up to 2 million TEU per year. The project also includes obtaining a building permit and author's supervision over future robots. The investment is to be environmentally friendly and adapted to support both civil and military infrastructure.

PLN 50 million for marine universities for development and modernization

Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Arkadiusz Marchewka announced the granting of nearly PLN 50 million for the Maritime University of Technology in Szczecin and the Maritime University in Gdynia. The funds will be allocated to the renovation of dormitories and didactic rooms, modernization of the training fleet, strengthening of cybersecurity and the development of scientific and research facilities. Marine universities are an important element of the Polish Higher Education System and a showcase of the country in the seas and oceans. Support is part of the strategy for the development of maritime education, for which in 2025 a record budget of over PLN 380 million is planned.

Summary of the first quarter at the port of Gdynia: an impressive increase in transhipments

In the first quarter of 2025, the port of Gdynia recorded dynamic increases: dumpling transhipments increased by 16.6 percent, and containers by 26.5 percent. year on year. Increases are the result of, among others development of new shipping services and investments in infrastructure, despite ongoing modernization works. Declines were recorded in coal, cereals and oil segments, which results from a return to trends from before the geopolitical crisis. The port consistently strengthens its position as a modern transport node for general and container cargo.

Amber Offshore selects the Polish register of ships

Amber Offshore announced that both shipowner ships were officially transferred to the Polish ships register (PRS). This decision is a conscious choice of cooperation, trust and support of Polish technical thought. The company emphasizes that this is to build strong national relations, the development of local competences and creating Polish content in the offshore sector.
