Prof. Marek Dzida
A graduate of the Gdańsk University of Technology, where he studied in 1972–1977. He obtained his doctorate at the Gdańsk University of Technology in 1983 and obtained his habilitation in 2003. He has been employed at the Gdańsk University of Technology since 1978. in the years 1996–2002 he was the vice-dean for education, and then in the years (2005–2012) he was the dean of the Faculty of Ocean Engineering and Ship Technology. In the years 2005–2008 he lectured at the State Higher Vocational School in Elbląg. In the years 2010-2020, he headed the Department of Automation and Energy at the Faculty of Ocean Engineering and Shipbuilding at the GUT. In the years 2012-2022, he served as vice-rector for education at the Gdańsk University of Technology.
He is a member of many organizations, including: the Gdańsk Scientific Society, chairman of the Technical Council of the Polish Ship Register and a member of Lloyd's Register Poland. He belonged to the Shipbuilding Forum, of which he was vice-chairman in 2007–2012. Chairman of the Council of the Navigation Safety Foundation. Prof. Lech Kobyliński, member of the Council of the National Maritime Museum. His scientific interests include, among others: automatic regulation of steam and gas turbines in ship propulsion and power engineering. He is the author or co-author of 212 works and several books.
