Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, member correspond PAN, rector
of the Gdańsk University of Technology from 2019-2024 and 2024 -2028.
Scientific career
Prof. Wilde before he became a rector, he served as the dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the PG environment three times. He gained international organizational experience at foreign universities, including At the University of Tokania, where he obtained a doctoral degree and started working, finally obtaining the position of associate professor. He specializes in bridge structures, building mechanics and diagnostics of building structures. He is the author or co -author of over 200 publications and 4 patents. In 2016, he became a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. It has about 1,900 citations (without self-citations) at the Web of Science Core Collection database and the Hirsch 23 index. Rector's function in 2019-2024 being a rector of the Gdańsk University of Technology, prof. Wilde together with the university's academic community introduced many qualitative changes that create the best possible development conditions for students and employees. He included strategic goals in the 11th Strategy of the Development of the Gdańsk University of Technology for 2020-2030 ″ and on this basis he successively implemented key activities:
Science and education
• obtaining the status of a research university and effective implementation of the IDUB program "Initiative
of Perfection - Research University", with a positive intraocrament evaluation of the program by an international team of experts in cooperation with the Ministry of Science in 2023,
• most often cited scientists in the world - in the list of 2% of top researchers
in the world, the university in 2024 has as many as 62 scientists year.
In an absolutely elite group of 1% of the most frequently cited scientists included prof.
Grzegorz Boczkaj. It is one of only six Poles in this ranking.
• Publications in 11Science ” - for the first time in the history of the university scientists from PG
appeared twice in 2023 on the dams of the prestigious 11Science magazine":
published by dr inż. arch. Karolina Zielińska-Dąbkowska and dr inż. Miłosz evening.
• Obtaining very good results in the last evaluation of scientific disciplines
conducted in PG,
• establishing the Center for Modern Education and the creation of a comprehensive
teaching support system.
Human resources
• Appointment of the HR Center and the Office of Young Scientists,
• Launch of PG Kindergarten for Children of Employees and Students,
• Development of a university friendly to employees with children.
• Implementing numerous pro-studio initiatives, including pg student zones.

• Co -in -the -course of the project of competences of the Stile and construction of the facility, in which
there is the Kraken Supercomputer - award in the Construction Competition of 2023
organized by the Polish Association of Construction Engineers and Technicians in
cooperation with the Ministry of Development and Technology,
• Eco -innovation Center,
• Revitalization of the Hydromechanics building - prize for the best Gdańsk architectural implementation
in 2021.
Cooperation in Poland and abroad
In 2023, prof. Wilde was elected co -chairman of the Council of Directors of the European University Enhance - an international consortium gathering leading technical universities such as the Politechnika in Zurich (Eth Zurich) - considered one of the best technical universities in the world or the Delft Technical University (TU Delft) - the largest and oldest technical university in the Netherlands. He co -founded the establishment in 2019 of the Association of Fahrenheit University (Faru}, which includes the Gdańsk Medical University, Gdańsk University of Technology and the University of Gdańsk. It was one of the most important events in the academic history of Gdańsk, also opening the path to the future federalization of the strongest universities of the region, which intend to build the position of the city as a strong academic center in Poland The limit of
Prof. Wilde was chosen for the first term of the chairman of the Faru Congregation. He is the president of the Pomeranian District Chamber of Construction Engineers, the chairman of the Academic Sports Commission of the Academic Conference with business, as evidenced by the Pomeranian Business Award "Orzeł Pomorski", which in 2023 he received as the rector of the Gdańsk University of Technology for the consistent implementation of the development strategy as a modern, European technical university and the initiator of projects and projects noticed in Poland and in the world. Privately, he is a husband, father of three children and a guardian of two border-collie shepherds. He sails in his free time, skiing and motorcycle.
