What is happening on the Polish sea? New oil deposit and milestones of key projects

Installation of the first turbines on the Baltic Power wind farm

The first of 76 turbines, which is planned for 2026, was installed on the Baltic Power Farm, built by Orlen and the Canadian company Northland Power Power Farm Baltic Power. Each of the turbines has the power to power the city of Stalowa Wola, and the whole farm will cover about 3% of the domestic energy demand. Installations run a 160-meter Jack-Up ship, which can transport three complete turbines, and some of the components-including Gondola - it is produced locally, including in Szczecin. The project involves the production of approx. 4,000 GWh per year, which will reduce CO₂ emissions by 2.8 million tons per year. Orlen emphasizes that the investment is a key step towards energy transformation and further maritime development of wind energy.

The program "Orka" the subject of the Ministry of National Defense visit to France

The Delegation of the Ministry of National Defense with Deputy Minister Paweł Bejda visited the French Naval Group Shipyard in Tulon, familiarizing with the offer of Scorpène submarines as part of the "Orka" program. During the visit, a letter of intent was signed regarding cooperation in the field of maneuvering lanches, which may mean deepening the strategic partnership of Poland and France. The issues of technology transfer and the possibility of servicing individuals in the country were also raised. Scorpène ships have a range of up to 80 days of autonomy, modern weapons (F21 torpedoes, exocet, the possibility of firing NCM missiles) and are already used by several countries. The Ministry of National Defense announces the selection of a bidder by the end of 2025, although the entrance of the first unit to service may not take place until 2031–2032

Discovery of a giant oil and gas deposit in the Baltic Sea

Central European Petroleum announced the discovery of the largest conventional oil and gas deposit in Poland - Wolin East (We1), located about 6 km from Świnoujście, in the Polish exclusive economic zone in the Baltic Sea. Estimated mining resources include 22 million tons of oil and condensate and 5 billion m³ of natural gas with commercial quality, with the entire Wolin license to contain up to 33 million tons of oil and 27 billion m³ of gas. The We1 well was made at a depth of 2715 m, using the Noble Resolve platform. The analyzes confirmed the 62-meter columns of hydrocarbons in the Dolomite (CA2), with excellent extraction conditions. CEP is a Canadian company based in Calgary, and its majority owners are Norwegian investors.

Visit of Minister Klimczak to the port of Gdańsk

The Minister of Infrastructure Dariusz Klimczak visited the Port of Gdańsk, where he became acquainted with the expansion of the Baltic Hub container terminal - the T3 quay was launched, which will increase the port reloading capabilities by 1.5 million TEU per year. He also discussed investments such as the new "W" position in Naftoport, the offshore T5 installation terminal and the floating LNG terminal (FSRU) built. The internal port is modernization of four 1.9 km long quays and a land supply system (OPS) is being developed. In addition, road and rail projects are implemented to improve logistics in the back of the port. All activities are to strengthen Poland's position as a key maritime node in Europe.

Polenergia and Warsaw University of Technology together for energy education

Polenergia has signed a five -year contract with the Warsaw University of Technology, taking the patronage over the field of environmental engineering to educate future energy sector staff. Cooperation aims to develop student competences in the areas of renewable energy, energy management and sustainable development, in accordance with the group's ESG strategy. Polenergy experts will lectures, co -create a curriculum and promote careers in the Green Energy Sector. Educational and information events are also planned as part of the agreement. The partnership is to help better match the educational offer to the challenges of energy transformation in Poland.
