From January 25, a ferry across the Martwa Wisła River will run next to the closed Siennicki Bridge. As the representative noted during Friday's briefing, work is underway to minimize the inconvenience associated with this closure. The ferry will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will accommodate 150 people and bicycles. The bridge was closed due to poor technical condition; research by experts from the Gdańsk University of Technology revealed that its abutments are starting to shift, which poses a risk of landslides. The renovation of the bridge is expected to take about 2 years and cost about PLN 30 million.

The 81.2-meter-long and 17-meter-wide ferries will be able to reach a maximum speed of 14 knots and accommodate up to 296 passengers.
