The Gdynia Naval Aviation Brigade is a tactical unit of the Polish Navy's maritime armed forces. The brigade currently comprises three units: the Gdynia Naval Aviation Brigade Command, the 43rd Naval Aviation Base, and the 44th Naval Aviation Base. BLMW aircraft and helicopters are stationed at the airports in Gdynia, Babie Doły, Siemirowice, and Darłowo.
BLMW's domain includes specialized air operations over maritime areas:
• anti-submarine warfare, independently and in cooperation with naval forces;
• reconnaissance and airspace control to identify and detect flying objects and vessels;
• reconnaissance and targeting of ships and guidance of strike aircraft to surface targets;
• search and rescue missions to secure the Polish zone of the Convention on Search and Rescue at Sea (SAR);
• ecological monitoring of the Polish Economic Zone in the Baltic Sea;
• transport of personnel and equipment.
