Piotr Borawski (born in 1983) – politician and social activist, known mainly for his involvement in matters related to maritime economy and citizens' participation in public life. He graduated in law from the University of Gdańsk and obtained an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from the Warsaw School of Economics. For many years he worked at Naftoport, where he was responsible for maritime affairs.
Councilor of the City of Gdańsk in the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th terms. As a councilor, Piotr Borawski was a member of various committees, mainly dealing with economic and maritime policy. In 2014-2018, he chaired the strategy and budget committee. One of the initiators of the Citizens' Budget in Gdańsk and the In Vitro program. Head of the mobility team at the Union of Polish Metropolises.
He is also the chairman of the Civic Platform in Gdańsk. Since January 2019, he has been the deputy mayor of Gdańsk. For 5 years he held the position of entrepreneurship and climate protection, currently deputy president for mobility and security. Its activities focus mainly on developing communication infrastructure, public transport, road maintenance and ensuring proper safety in Gdańsk.
Apart from politics, Piotr Borawski is also involved in pro-ecological projects, especially those related to the concept of Smart City and Smart Metropolis. Privately, he is a father of two boys and a sports enthusiast, especially volleyball.
