Captain Jones joined the Royal Navy as an Engineer Officer after graduating from University. He has served at sea in frigates and destroyers deployed around the world, as well as in joint posts in the UK and overseas, working with other Services and NATO partners. His latter career has focused upon capability acquisition and delivery. Joining the UK Type 31 frigate program in 2020, he was promoted in 2023, taking responsibility for that program's international commitments, including the implementation of the agreement signed by the UK and Polish Governments for co-operation between the Type 31 and MIECZNIK programs.
