Over the next ten years, offshore wind farms will meet approximately one-fifth of Poland's energy needs, preserving Poland's energy independence. As critical infrastructure located in the open sea, offshore wind farms will pose a significant challenge in terms of physical and cybersecurity for their operators, as well as for the Polish state services responsible for protecting such facilities.
The maritime location of CI facilities on such a scale (approx. 1,000 power plants + several dozen high-voltage and power transformer stations along with cable lines) requires completely new mechanisms and procedures related to their protection, especially in the era of a real threat of hybrid attacks and direct military aggression from the East.
The panel participants will discuss what safety procedures for offshore farms should look like and who or what formations should be responsible for their safety.
